Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thess. 5:16-18
Big Idea: Continual prayer is the constant pursuit of a loving Father.
Praying Continually is….
A. Making a Choice to pursue an ongoing relationship with our Heavenly Father.
1. Closed Doors (Silence)
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matt. 6:6
2. Outreached Arms (SURRENDER)
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matt. 6:9-10
3. Open Hands (RECEIVE)
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Matt. 6:11-13
B. Based on a Relationship with our loving Heavenly Father who always gives good gifts to his children.
C. Characterized by Persistently seeking God’s presence, purpose, and plans.
